We're committed to providing unparalleled exposure for our athletes, connecting them with top-tier competitive opportunities and showcasing their talents to a broad network. Our program cultivates an atmosphere of intense competition, where players are constantly challenged to elevate their game, learn from high-stakes scenarios, and thrive under pressure. This environment not only readies our athletes for the next level but also instills a winning mindset, essential for success both on and off the court.
We elevate players' potential through focused skill development, tailored to each athlete's unique strengths and areas for growth. Our dedicated approach in honing technical skills, basketball IQ, and physical conditioning ensures that every player not only excels on the court but also develops a deep understanding and love for the game. Committed to excellence, we nurture talent at every level, preparing our athletes for competitive success and personal achievement.
Our coaches bring a wealth of experience and a deep dedication to nurturing young talent. Many of our mentors coach high school basketball in the winter. They possess not only advanced technical expertise but also a profound understanding of the athlete's journey. Their commitment goes beyond skill training; they mentor and inspire our athletes, imparting lessons in resilience, teamwork, and strategic thinking, ensuring that every player receives the guidance needed to reach their full potential.
Trevor has been around the game of basketball for as long as he can remember. His passion for the game can be seen whether it is watching, playing or coaching hoops. A 2010 graduate and former player for Maple Grove High School, Trevor Walton is currently the head coach of North Branch Boys Basketball. He previously has coached at the JV, 10th grade, and the youth travel level since 2014 at STMA.
Trevor realized the potential of having a program in the Northwest Metro right along I94, which sparked the creation on MN Rush in 2017. Trevor spent this past year not coaching his own team and focusing solely on director duties, which allowed him to watch all of the Rush teams compete. When Trevor isn't involved with basketball, he enjoys time with his family and three kids, anything Star Wars related, good food and golfing.

James has just recently taken on the role of the girls program director for Rush after coaching for two years at the 13U and 14U levels. James is currently the Varsity Assistant for North Branch Boys Basketball. He previously coached the 9A and B-Squad Boys at St. Michael-Albertville High School, and also is currently the Boys & Girls High Jump Coach for STMA Track & Field.
Driven to expand the Rush program, James identified an opportunity to replicate the boys' successes and recognized the need for a high-quality girls' program in the Northwest Metro. He believes that basketball is fundamentally about discovering an athlete's unique skill set, and fostering a winning mindset. Outside of coaching, James enjoys golfing, exercising, and spending time up north.
